What personal data I collect and why I collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site I collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

Comments and other content submitted to At Peace With Health are not saved on our servers unless they were marked as false positives, in which case we store them long enough to use them to improve the service to avoid future false positives

Cookies

If you leave a comment on this site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

Like most website operators, WordPress collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. The purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how visitors use its website.

WordPress & Google Analytics also collect potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged in users and for users leaving comments on our blogs. Analytics only discloses logged in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below, except that blog commenter IP addresses are visible and disclosed to the administrators of the blog where the comment was left.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Disclaimers

As a blogger, I don’t have a large budget to spend on tools, website creation & marketing. However these things are crucial for success.

I started At Peace with Health with a single goal: create blog content that is helpful for individuals on a quest for health and make it free.

My goal is to help people find their unique path to health.

I have always believed in being honest and transparent with my audience. In my opinion, that’s the only way to build a community.

Running a popular website like At Peace With Health that helps millions of users requires significant investment. Both on the server infrastructure part as well as on the content creation part.

I create and maintain free blogs sharing information such as recipes, hidden gluten in your favorite products, product reviews, holistic parenting insights and so much more!

I do have to make money otherwise I would have to shut the site down. Below I explain the primary source that funds At Peace With Health.

Referral Fees

I earn referral fees when you buy services from companies that I recommend.

I only recommend products that I believe will add value to your life and health. I thoroughly test and use all products that I recommend. All opinions are my own, and I do not accept payments for positive reviews.

This monetization method is called affiliate marketing. The biggest brands on the internet offer affiliate programs such as Amazon, eBay, Google, etc. Many of your favorite sites use affiliate marketing to pay the bills.

The only difference is that not everyone tell their users how they make money.

When you click on these link, you are tagged with a special cookie to track the referral. If you end up buying the product, then they pay me a referral fee.

The referral fees vary for each product. For an ingredient or supplement that you may buy at Amazon, I might earn $1.

Question #1 – Will it Cost Me More Money?

No, absolutely not. In most cases, my deals will actually save you money.

Question #2 – Do You See My Personal Details?

Nope. I don’t see any personal information i.e name, email, address, credit card, etc.

The only thing I see is that an anonymous user made a purchase on date/time and which product they bought.

How Can You Help?

Sites like At Peace With Health take a lot of investment to operate.

I have a dedicated myself to providing you with quality content to increase your knowledge and confidence on your path to wellness.

If you’ve found At Peace With Health to be helpful, then I hope that you will help support the site, so I can continue working towards my mission.

Thank you for support.
